Gavin Mendel-Gleason is the Workers’ Party representative in Dublin North West. Born in California, Gavin holds a PhD in computer science from DCU. He currently works as a software engineer at Trinity College Dublin and is a member of the IFUT trade union.
Gavin has a long record of socialist activism. He has been involved in a range of campaigns, from the Shell2Sea campaign in defence of our natural resources, to the Right2Water campaign against water charges. Gavin is also involved in policy development for the Workers’ Party, focusing primarily on housing and the economy.
Gavin’s priorities are tackling the jobs and housing crises, repeal of the 8th amendment, and ensuring that all citizens have access to quality public education and health services.
