Éilis Ryan

Cllr. Éilis Ryan sits on Dublin City Council, representing the North Inner City area. Éilis is a socialist and feminist, and has been active in the Stoneybatter Against the Water Tax campaign, opposing the installation of meters and encouraging a boycott of Irish Water. She was involved in the establishment of the Dublin 7 Housing Action Campaign, which campaigns for affordable, decent housing for all in Dublin 7.
On Dublin City Council, Éilis is a member of the Planning Committee and the Local Community Development Committee, and has been active in campaigning for city planning to play a greater role in creating high quality jobs in Ireland.
Prior to her election, Éilis worked for a range of human rights and community development organisations in Ireland, Asia and Latin America. She is a member of the community sector of SIPTU and was a shop steward for several years.
